- Orally, spiny restharrow is used for gout, kidney and bladder stones, rheumatic complaints, urinary tract infections, irrigation therapy for inflammatory disease of the lower urinary tract, and prevention and treatment of kidney gravel.

Contraindication(s)
Spiny restharrow is thought to have diuretic properties. Spiny restharrow is thought to have diuretic properties. Theoretically, due to these potential diuretic effects, spiny restharrow might reduce excretion and increase levels of lithium. The dose of lithium might need to be decreased.
EDEMA: Contraindicated in individuals with edema resulting from cardiac or kidney impairment.
