Couch Grass (Agropyron repens)

Use(s) or Purpose(s)

    • Orally, couch grass is primarily used as a concentrated source of nutrients. It is used therapeutically for increasing hemoglobin production, improving blood sugar disorders such as diabetes, preventing tooth decay, improving wound healing, and preventing bacterial infections. It is also used orally for removing deposits of drugs, heavy metals, and carcinogens from the body and neutralizing toxins, removing toxins from the liver and removing toxins from the blood stream.
    • Couch grass is used orally for preventing gray hair, reducing high blood pressure, improving digestion, and blocking intestinal cholesterol absorption. It is used orally to treat cystitis, urethritis, prostatitis, benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH), renal calculus (kidney stones), and in “irrigation therapy” (use of a mild diuretic and copious fluid intake to increase urine flow).
    • It is also used orally for common cold, cough and bronchitis, fever and colds, inflammation of mouth and pharynx, tendency to infection, gout, liver disorders, ulcerative colitis, cancer, rheumatic pain, and chronic skin problems.

When couch grass juice is taken orally, and appropriately, in medicinal amounts. Couch grass has been used safely for up to one month. There is insufficient reliable information available about the long-term safety of couch grass when used medicinally.
