Nous retrouvons les fibres dans les l\u00e9gumes, les fruits, les pains, les c\u00e9r\u00e9ales \u00e0 grains entiers, les l\u00e9gumineuses, les noix et les graines. Il existe deux types de fibres alimentaires\u00a0: les fibres insolubles et les fibres solubles.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Nous nous int\u00e9ressons ici plus particuli\u00e8rement aux fibres solubles. Les fibres solubles forment une substance g\u00e9lifi\u00e9e lorsqu&#8217;elles se m\u00e9langent \u00e0 l&#8217;eau, retardant ainsi la vitesse de d\u00e9placement des aliments dans l&#8217;appareil digestif. Les fibres offrent de nombreux b\u00e9n\u00e9fices sant\u00e9. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 prouv\u00e9 que les fibres solubles contribuent alors \u00e0 maintenir un taux de cholest\u00e9rol sain, \u00e0 \u00e9quilibrer la glyc\u00e9mie, \u00e0 faciliter l\u2019absorption des sources d&#8217;\u00e9nergie, \u00e0 aider \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9quilibre de l&#8217;\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me microbien de l&#8217;intestin et \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer la r\u00e9gularit\u00e9 intestinale.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Au Canada, les besoins en fibres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 fix\u00e9s \u00e0 25 g. par jour chez les femmes et \u00e0 38 g. par jour chez les hommes. La plupart des Canadiennes et des Canadiens consomment seulement la moiti\u00e9 de ces quantit\u00e9s de fibres. Les suppl\u00e9ments Bifidofib et Lactofib contiennent une source \u00e9lev\u00e9e de fibres solubles (source 100% naturelle issue de la gomme d&#8217;acacia).
